My InstaTrip to Hamburg #IGTravelthursday

Hamburg, Germany, is just a short distance trip from my home base Bremen. That’s perfect for a short escape, just to see something different. My latest trip to Hamburg was just for a relaxed afternoon. Come and join my InstaTrip:

1pm – Getting there:

There is a regurlar train connection from Bremen to Hamburg. With the Niedersachsen-Ticket you can get for just 22 Euro (one person) to Hamburg and back and can even use all public transports in the city. Well, this time I tried the new ADAC Postbus – a retour ticket costs about 18 Euro but does not include the public transport in the city.

2pm – Discover an almost lost place:

Do you know I have a vertigo? I was quite afraid of climbing down the stairs to the old tunnel below the river Elbe. But what I found there was worth all the hassle as you can see in my post here (sorry, so far only in German.)

3pm – Going by ship:

If you have a day ticket or a Niedersachsen-Ticket you can use all public transports in Hamburg – including the ferries connecting the different districts of the city. I love going to the Docklands. From the roof terrace you have a spectacular view on the river Elbe.

5pm – Grab some food:

I learnt about Mamalicious (Max-Brauer-Allee 277, 22769 Hamburg) from my Hamburg friends. The pancakes are really delicious. Give it a try.

7pm – Going home:
Well, I had a wonderful afternoon but I had to get back to Bremen. But I’m coming back, for sure!

  1. I also love short escapes and exploring new things. I have yet to visit Hamburg, I’ve just before driven through it. Those pancakes look absolutely delicious!
